A Manchester AI company that comes to you
We are based in Miles Platting, about ten minutes from the city centre, and we run every AI system we sell inside our own Manchester business before anybody else pays for it. Close enough to sit at your table, small enough to answer the phone ourselves.

What Manchester businesses keep telling us
The conversations repeat, across trades, professional firms and repair businesses within about half an hour of the city centre. The details change and the shape does not.
- A city-centre firm losing calls every lunchtime because everyone is in meetings.
- A trades business covering the M60 and turning down work in the wrong postcode too late.
- An agency in Ancoats whose enquiries arrive at midnight and get answered at ten.
- A practice in Didsbury where the partner is the most expensive receptionist in the building.
- A workshop in Trafford Park where the paperwork happens after six in the evening.
- And everywhere, somebody quietly pasting customer emails into a free chatbot with no rules agreed.
None of these need a national consultancy or a London day rate. They need somebody who can come and look at the actual process, then build the specific thing that fixes it.
Why local matters for AI, and where it honestly does not
Most of this work happens remotely and we are not going to pretend otherwise. But there are three points where being twenty minutes away genuinely changes the outcome.
The first is the mapping conversation. Working out what actually happens to an enquiry in your business is a job best done standing in the room where it happens, watching somebody do it, noticing the sticky note on the monitor and the second spreadsheet nobody mentioned. Remote discovery calls get you the version people describe. On-site discovery gets you the version that happens, and those are rarely the same document.
The second is trust at the point of handing over data. You are giving a supplier access to your customer list, your inbox and sometimes your phone line. Sitting across a table from the person who will actually configure it, in your own office, changes the nature of that decision. We are not a call centre and you are not being passed to an account manager, which is easier to believe once you have met somebody.
The third is the awkward middle of a project, when something is not working and email is not resolving it. Being able to say "I will come over on Thursday" without a train fare and a diary negotiation is worth more than it sounds. Problems that take three days of messages take forty minutes at a table.
Where local makes no difference at all
Everything after go-live, mostly. Monitoring, fixes, adjustments and support are remote work, and a supplier in Manchester has no advantage over a good supplier anywhere for those. We are not going to invent one.
The technology is identical too. There is no Manchester version of an AI receptionist. What differs is the configuration, and configuration follows your process rather than your postcode.
Which means: do not choose on geography alone
Choose on whether the supplier runs what they sell, prices advice separately from implementation, and can tell you what they have switched off. Those matter far more than distance. If a supplier three hundred miles away answers those better than we do, take them.
The honest version of the local pitch is that proximity is a tie-breaker, not a qualification. We put the full supplier checklist on our UK AI company page precisely so you can apply it to us.
What we do for Manchester businesses
The same nine services we offer nationally, with the local difference noted where there is one.
AI automation in Manchester
The repetitive admin removed: invoices read into the accounts, records moved between systems, reports that build themselves. On-site process mapping included for businesses inside the M60.
AI automation ManchesterAI consultancy in Manchester
Advice, rules and planning before anybody builds anything, delivered in person across Greater Manchester rather than as a video call and a PDF.
AI consultancy ManchesterAI receptionist
Your Manchester phone number answered every time, with local postcode filtering so jobs in the wrong part of the county get declined politely in the first minute.
AI receptionistAI website chat
Website visitors answered at nine in the evening using your real prices, with the conversation turned into an enquiry waiting for you in the morning.
AI website chatLead capture and follow-up
Every enquiry from every channel in one list with an owner and a next step, and the polite chasing that wins work others let go cold.
Lead capture and follow-upQuote and job management
Accepted quotes becoming scheduled jobs with written approvals and invoices raised without retyping. Built originally for our own Manchester workshop.
Quote and job managementWhy we can say this with a straight face
We are a Manchester business, not a national brand with a postcode
Manchester PC has been a Manchester business from the start. We are office based in Miles Platting at Cariocca Enterprises on Sawley Road, ten minutes out of the city centre, and it is a real working unit rather than a registered address bought from a formation agent. We are not a walk-in shop and never have been: repair work is collected and returned, and the AI work happens at your premises or ours by arrangement.
For several years we also ran the UK service operation for a European hardware manufacturer, out of this building. Their customers, their returns, their repairs, handled from Manchester for the whole country. That work is where the operational discipline came from, because a national brand handing you their customers does not accept dropped cases, and it taught us to track everything before we had any software worth the name.
The AI side grew out of our own problems here. Calls ringing out while both hands were inside a machine. Quotes going cold on the bench. An inbox in this office opening on eighty-three unread emails. Every system we sell was built to fix something that was happening about fifteen feet from where this page was written, and most of them still run here daily.
The practical consequence for a Manchester client is that our examples are local ones. When we say a trades business covering the M60 needs postcode filtering before anything else, that is because we have configured it for businesses covering the M60. We are not translating a case study from somewhere else.
Every system we sell was built to fix something happening about fifteen feet from where this page was written.
Read the whole storyThe Manchester businesses this suits
Greater Manchester has a particular mix, and the pattern of what leaks money differs across it more than you might expect.
Trades across Greater Manchester
Plumbers, electricians, roofers and builders working across a county with ten boroughs and wildly varying travel times. The single biggest local difference is postcode filtering: a job in Wigan and a job in Stockport are both technically Greater Manchester and one of them may be an hour each way in traffic.
Getting that filter right on the first call, rather than after a callback, is the fastest saving available. The full version is on our trades page.
Professional firms in the city centre and the south
Accountants, solicitors, consultants and agencies concentrated around the centre, Spinningfields, Ancoats and out through Didsbury and Cheadle. Here the leak is almost never marketing. It is response: calls during client meetings, enquiries buried in a shared inbox, proposals nobody follows up.
The economics are unusually good for these firms because the person currently answering the phone badly is billing by the hour. More detail on our professional services page.
Repair and service businesses
Our own category, and the one we know best. Trafford Park, Openshaw, the industrial estates around the M60 and the high-street shops everywhere. The distinctive problem is the second quote after diagnosis, which generic job software handles badly and which causes most of the awkward invoice conversations.
We wrote the whole thing up on our repair and service businesses page, from an office about a mile from most of them.
Property and maintenance firms
A large sector in a city with this much rented housing and this much new build. The shape here is the three-party job: tenant reports, landlord or agent authorises, contractor delivers, and most of the trouble is traffic between the three rather than the work itself.
Covered properly on our property maintenance page.
How a Manchester engagement runs
Four stages. The first one is free and happens at your premises if you are inside the M60.
- 01
We come to you
A free systems review, on-site across Greater Manchester. We watch what actually happens to an enquiry rather than hearing the version people describe in a meeting.
- 02
Measure one real week
Where the answer is not obvious, we measure before recommending. Calls that rang out, enquiries unanswered, quotes gone quiet. Your numbers, not industry averages.
Lead Leak Assessment, £99 - 03
Build one thing
One service, configured around your process, running alongside what you do now. Nothing at risk while you watch it work.
- 04
Stay reachable
Support is remote like everybody else's, but when something needs a table and two coffees, we are twenty minutes away rather than a train journey.
Where we work across Greater Manchester
On-site work is included inside the M60 and available beyond it. Remote setup and support cover the whole country.
| Area | On-site visits | Typical local sector |
|---|---|---|
| Manchester city centre, Ancoats, Spinningfields | Included | Agencies, professional firms |
| Miles Platting, Openshaw, Clayton | Included, we are here | Repair, light industrial |
| Salford, Trafford Park, Stretford | Included | Trades, logistics, workshops |
| Didsbury, Chorlton, Cheadle, Stockport | Included | Professional services, clinics |
| Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton | By arrangement | Trades, property maintenance |
| Wigan, Tameside, Warrington | By arrangement | Trades, manufacturing |
| Rest of the UK | Remote, or by arrangement | All of the above |
Being outside Greater Manchester changes nothing about the service or the price. It only changes whether the first meeting happens at your table or on a screen.
Choosing between a Manchester AI company and a national one
A fair comparison, including the cases where you should not choose us.
National consultancies and venture-funded AI products have real advantages: bigger teams, deeper specialisms, and the ability to survive losing you as a client. If you need a bespoke model trained on proprietary data, or a rollout across forty sites, that is who you want and we will tell you so rather than attempting it.
What a local supplier of our size offers instead is proximity, continuity and accountability. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it and the person who answers when it breaks. There is no account manager layer and no handover to a delivery team you have not met. For a business of ten or twenty people that is usually worth more than scale.
The other genuine difference is that we can be found. We are on a register, at an address, with a phone number answered by the product we sell. In a market where a great many AI companies are a landing page and a booking link, being physically locatable in Manchester is not a marketing angle so much as a filter.
What we would tell you to check either way
Ask any supplier what they run in their own business, whether advice is priced separately from the build, and what happens to your data if you leave. Those three questions separate operators from resellers faster than anything on a website, including this one.
Frequently asked questions
Where in Manchester are you based?
Cariocca Enterprises, 2 Sawley Road, Miles Platting, Manchester M40 8BB, about ten minutes from the city centre. We are office based rather than a walk-in shop, so meetings happen at your premises or by arrangement at ours. Repair work is collected and returned rather than dropped off.
Do you only work with Manchester businesses?
No. We are Manchester based and work UK wide, and most delivery is remote. Being local matters for the first mapping conversation and for the awkward middle of a project, not for the technology, which is identical wherever you are.
Do you charge extra for on-site visits?
Not inside the M60, where the free systems review and project meetings are included. Beyond Greater Manchester we agree it in advance rather than surprising anyone with travel time on an invoice.
What does AI cost for a Manchester small business?
The same as anywhere: monthly services from £24.99 to around £249, advisory sessions from £149, the assessment at £99 and automation builds from £500, all plus VAT. Every price is published on our pricing page rather than quoted after a discovery call.
Can you help if we already have an IT company in Manchester?
Yes, and we often do. Automation usually needs access to systems somebody else looks after, and the sensible arrangement is that they keep doing what they do while we build on top. We would rather cooperate than turn it into a territorial argument with the client in the middle.
Which Manchester industries do you know best?
Repair and service businesses, because that is what we are. After that, trades working across Greater Manchester, professional firms in the centre and the south, and property maintenance. Each has its own page with the specifics rather than a generic pitch.
Are you an AI agency or an AI consultancy?
Neither label fits exactly. We are an operating business that built AI systems for itself and now sells them, which means we do consultancy work and implementation work but resell nothing and take no commission. The distinction matters when you are judging whose advice to trust.
What we would tell a Manchester business owner over a brew
The things that are true about running a small business in this city, which rarely appear on a supplier's website because none of them sell anything.
Geography costs Manchester businesses more than they think. Ten boroughs, a ring road that decides your afternoon, and travel times that vary by an hour depending on when you set off. Every trades business we have worked with here was quietly losing money to jobs accepted in the wrong place at the wrong time of day, and none of them had ever counted it. Before buying any technology, work out what a badly placed job actually costs you once travel is included. It changes which enquiries you want.
The second thing is that this city is full of businesses that compete on being good rather than on being organised, and the two are not the same. Manchester has an enormous number of genuinely skilled trades, clinics, agencies and workshops where the work is excellent and the admin is held together by one person's memory. That is fine until that person is ill, and it is the single most common fragility we find during a systems review. Writing down what happens between an enquiry arriving and a quote going out costs an afternoon and is worth more than most software purchases.
The third is that local reputation still decides more here than online marketing does. Word of mouth across a trade in Greater Manchester moves fast, and it is driven by whether you answered, turned up and did what you said. Technology that makes you more reliable is therefore worth more in this market than technology that makes you more visible, which is the opposite of what most agencies will tell you.
None of that requires buying anything from us. A free systems review usually surfaces at least one change that costs nothing, and when that is the honest answer we say it and leave.
Getting started in Manchester, and what it costs
Three sensible entry points depending on how certain you are about what needs fixing.
If you know exactly what is broken
Start with the single service that fixes it and ignore everything else on this site. If calls ring out, that is the receptionist at £99 a month. If quotes go quiet, it is lead capture and follow-up from £39. Buying one thing that works beats buying three things that half-work, and it gives you a real number to judge the next decision against.
If you suspect a leak but cannot prove it
Measure one real week first. The Lead Leak Assessment counts what actually happened to your calls, enquiries and quotes over seven days and prices the gap. It costs £99 and it regularly recommends something cheaper than the thing the owner was about to buy.
This is the option we push hardest, because guessing is how businesses end up with software that solves a problem they did not have.
If the question is broader than one process
Where the real question is "where should AI fit in this business at all", the AI Opportunity Assessment maps the whole operation and returns five prioritised opportunities with honest effort and cost estimates. Founding price £99, and the report is yours whether or not you use us to build anything.
All three start with a free conversation, on-site anywhere inside the M60. Nothing on this page requires a long contract or a minimum term.
